About
Reimagining how Australia cares for people living with dementia.
DCAA was created to answer a clear and growing need — dementia care that feels like home, not a hospital. It brings together clinical expertise, considered design and a deep respect for the people at its heart.
Our Story
Dementia Care and Accommodation is part of the Szabo Health Care Group, the parent entity behind Queensland’s leading supported living brands.
Since 2019, our SDA Smart Homes division has delivered and tenanted one of Queensland’s leading Specialist Disability Accommodation portfolios — 120 High Physical Support homes, supported by more than 70 dedicated care provider companies delivering 24/7 care.
As a registered NDIS SDA Provider, SDA Smart Homes and its tenanting division, The Disability Housing Centre have become recognised as trusted and expert providers of high quality housing for people with living with disability. We now have 200 happy tenants living in the homes we manage.
Through our time working with care providers and families, we became aware of the difficulty faced in finding specialist accommodation and care for family members living with dementia.
Following extensive consultation with dementia specialists and families, we’re now applying our proven expertise in delivering high quality Specialist Disability Accommodation to create what we believe is a first-of-its-kind model in Queensland – homes for 4 to 5 residents that provide a safe and familiar environment for dementia respite and long-term care.
